About The Village

The parish of Tasburgh (pronounced taze-bruh) is a civil parish and a village in the south of Norfolk, England. The River Tas flows nearby and Tasburgh Hall lies to the west of the village. The local church is dedicated to St. Mary the Virgin.

Most of the parish is located in what is known as Upper Tasburgh (located just off the A140) with housing being built here during the early 60s.

Lower Tasburgh retains a more rural aspect with many of the older timber framed farmhouses and cottages remaining from the early 17th century. The village also contains the remains of an Iron Age Hill Fort (more information from the Norfolk Archaeological Trust).

From the 2011 census we know that there are 467 households, housing 1,149 people.

Tasburgh is well-served by a Public House, a Village Hall (which hosts the outreach Post Office service), a Sports and Social Club, a football pitch and outdoor play area, Preston Primary School and St Mary's Church.
